A popular railway that serves the eastern and south eastern parts of London is the driverless Docklands Light Railway or DLR. This railway serves various parts of London, including the airports of London, Stratford, and Beckton. The routes cover the eastern and north eastern parts of the Docklands as well as Lewisham and Greenwich. Aside from its railway service in these areas, it is also conveniently connected to the London Underground or the ‘Tube’. The stations that are linked to the Tube include the Bank and Tower Gateway at the Tower Hill, Bow, Canning Town, Canary Wharf, Heron Quays, Shadwell, and the Stratford.

The Docklands Light Railway operates on a daily basis, starting from 5.30 in the morning to a little past midnight during the weekdays and Saturdays. During Sundays, it starts a little bit late at 7 in the morning and ends at 11.30 at night. Since the Docklands Light Railway is a part of London’s network of trams and buses, a flat fare applies. Base fares are £1 for those with an Oyster Card or £2 for regular commuters.

The Docklands Light Railway caters to the needs of passengers with disabilities, as it features a lift and ramp access to platforms and trains. There are also alarms available in case of emergency.
