In the year 2000, South London embraced another tram network called the Tramlink. Tramlink is a relatively small London tram that runs from Beckenham through Croydon, all the way to Wimbledon. Over the few years, it has proven to be an effective and popular choice of transportation. Tramlink plans to expand its operations to cover the rest of South London as well as the Crystal Palace area.

If you’d like to catch the Tramlink during weekdays and Saturdays, the tram runs every ten minutes during day time. It stops at Wimbledon, Elmers End, and Beckenham. It also has a station in New Addington where trams depart once every 7 minutes. The Tramlink’s Wimbledon Station enables passengers to connect to other rail services as well as transportation on the street level. This station is also accessible for visually impaired passengers as it is equipped with tactile strips along the entire length of the station. There are also wheelchair spaces that have intercoms to enable handicapped passengers to contact the driver. Tramlink also provides priority seats for the disabled and the elderly.

The Tramlink is a part of London’s bus network, and it offers a flat fare for all destinations. Fares are £1 for those with Oyster Card or £2 for those who are paying cash.
