Getting Around Fabulous Holiday Spot In London
London is a fabulous holiday spot with much to see and experience along its well-traveled tourist routes. If you can manage to get yourself off the busy path and out of the city a bit, you will be amazed by even more wonders, such as Windsor Castle, Dear Park, Hampton Court Palace, and the Sussex Coast, just to name a few.
The Royal Family currently resides, among other places, at Windsor Castle. The property is enormous and offers lovely views over town, Dear Park, and Eton College. Just 30 miles west of London and on the Thames River, it is worth the trip as it is open to the public to experience up close and personal. As an added bonus, check out the home of Henry XIII, the palatial 17th century Hampton Court Palace.
If you’re feeling even more adventurous, drive about 50 miles south of London to Brighton and the Sussex Coast. Experience the history and rich culture of the towns of Hastings and Battle. East of London is the Cathedral of Canterbury and the White Cliffs of Dover. West of London you will find the beautiful Hills around Dorking in Surrey.
Heading back toward London again, don’t miss Greenwich’s zero meridian, park, village and maritime museum, the eclectic and bohemian Camden Market, and the fabulous views of the city enjoyed from Hampstead Heath.
Public transportation may be not be accessible for all legs of this extended tour of London, so arrange for car rental and you will be able to direct your own magnificent tour.
