This is a lovely restaurant to experience some gourmet food in opulent surroundings. The whole ambience of this restaurant is expensive opulence. This is not for the casual diner looking for a quick meal. No, this is somewhere to go when you want to relax, take your time, be pampered and dress up for the occasion.
The food is 21st Century cuisine at its very best. The dishes are simple, but to achieve this level of simplicity takes a long time, since the dishes have evolved over time and after much experimentation. All the flavours blend together and complement each other.
Who could resist the Ontario Veal Osso Buco, which is braised in tomato and herbs served with Yukon mashed potatoes? It sounds very simple, but is so delicious.
There are some ‘Taste of Niagara’ meals which are available at a very reasonable $38 per head, although the choices on offer are very limited with only one sweet available. Main dishes on the a la carte menu are around $30. Vegetarians are not really catered for.
The wine list is extensive and some really good wines can be found on the menu, although they are not cheap. But this is not a restaurant that you would come to every day, this is somewhere just that little bit special. Budget at least $50 per head exclusive of wine for a 3-course meal.
