Lille comes third in the largest French river port with the river Deûle and has over 680 km of navigatable river.

Deûle runs through the towns of Lens,Loos,Wingles,Wambrechies, Quesnoys-sur-Deûle and of course Lille. The upper part of the river is free-flowing and is known as the Souchez.
