Bedford Dance 4 All Festival
Every 16th of June
For the first time, the Bedford Borough Council Sports Development Unit held a festival last year named, Dance 4 All. This event, which started at 11am until 5pm at the Corn Exchange, Howard Rooms and Harpur Suite, was organized with a goal of increasing the participation in all forms of sport and exercise, especially dance.
The festival promoted almost all forms of dance that can be found in Bedford and these include aerobics, street dance, tea dances, sports dance, salsa, jazz and tango, among others. The event is held with the hopes of attracting people who may like to come and try some dances and those who have already been dancing for years as well. Over thirty dance groups participated in the festival that brought in quite a lot of participants.
As their admission fee, participants to the Dance 4 All Festival were made to pay one pound for a wristband. This band gave them access to try out the different dance classes featured in the festival as well as meet all the other groups involved in the event. With the band, visitors can come in and out of the festival’s locations the whole day.
The Dance 4 All Festival is touted as an effective event that offered local dance groups the chance to demonstrate their classes as well as run some workshops that will promote the dances to the people in the locality and even those who are just visiting the area. There were two stages, an exhibition space and numerous dance floors during the one-day festival.
