The birds of prey may be among the most fearful bird species but they are also among the most fascinating and beautiful creatures of flight in the world. If you are among the people who are interested in birds of prey, then you must visit the Bird of Prey Centre, which is some 21 minutes away from Bedford.
There are some 300 birds of prey that can be found at the centre and they belong to a wide range of species. They are made to take part in the flying displays which are held up to four times a day. These include the Falconry Pageant, the Falconers Fun Demonstration that uses all kinds of birds and the Out of Africa, which involves secretary birds, owls, eagles, vultures and falcons. Informative workshops are held at the centre for school children of all ages. Hawking Days and Falconry courses are also available in the centre the whole year round.
The Bird of Prey and Conservation Centre as well as the English School of Falconry can be found in the Old Warden Park, where the Swiss Gardena and the Shuttleworth Collection are also located. A family-run business, the centre’s staff are always on hand and happy to answer any queries that you may have during your visit here.
