The Harrold-Odell Country Park is one of the many parks in the Bedford area that is frequented by nature lovers. This is as a result of the parks interesting range of wildlife, plants and insects. The park is also a popular area for summer migratory birds and wintering wildfowl to flock to. As there is a bird-watching hide in the park that can be accessed by wheelchairs, the park is also very convenient to be visited by people with disabilities.

The park is comprised of a number of habitats like woodlands, a river, open water, grasslands and an open meadow. There are also facilities such as a car park and visitor central. The park is a favorite among children during school holidays because of the many activities held here. There is even a café in the park’s premises that provides light refreshments, teas and even lunches for its visitors. This café is open from 9:30am onwards.

Beckoning a great number of visitors because of the peace and tranquility that it can provide, the Harrold-Odell Park gets an average of 205,000 visitors every year. The park is some 58 hectares in total area that include 12.3 hectares of water meadows that can be found next to the river. There are some 45 hectares of restored extraction sites of minerals in the park as well.
