Today’s ultra long haul flights can see passengers spending 15 hours or more on an airplane. The tree, manufactured from the finest toxic plastics, was up and decorated with shiny baubles, and Jimmy Stewart was blubbing again on the TV (It's a Wonderful Life is a strange symptom of the modern day Christmas experience; suicide with a fat angel, very Christmasy).

Before we begin dissecting your last holiday let’s talk about what a carbon footprint really is. The concept of a carbon footprint is pretty straight forward. It is simply the impact that you have on the planet in terms of greenhouse gases emitted. Greenhouse gases are commonly carbon dioxide, but can be things like methane and nitrous oxide as well.

Those were the days - remember when this was all a woman could aim for??
There was a time, not too long ago, when job occupations like those of a pilot and flight attendant were considered to be the sexiest jobs around.
